Sourced from a selection of mature, dry-grown vineyards in the Langhorne Creek region of South Australia, the fruit is hand-harvested and vinified in small open fermenters with regular hand plunging to add weight, richness & complexity. But here's the kicker! The wine is then matured & aged in three hundred litre, high double toast American oak “black barrels” for six months. This just adds an even more intense flavour & richness to the wine.
This 2020 new release is gorgeously ripe and sweetly expressed on the nose showing Black Doris plum, raspberry, vanilla and cedar characters with a touch of spicy nuance. The palate delivers excellent weight and fruit intensity, together with plump mouthfeel and a velvety silky texture.
The 2019 vintage was awarded 5 Stars & 93/100 points, and we reckon this is better yet... watch this space!
