Deep purple with ruby red rim in the glass this wine shows pronounced aromas of black fruits, cracked pepper, smoke and toast. The palate is full-bodied with beautifully balanced tannins. Dark dense black fruit such as cherries integrate with a long smoky and toasty finish. This wines shows fabulous complexity with its minerality.
The Grenache element was carefully sourced from only the highest altitude vineyards on the slopes of Monte Armantes, predominately from the Campillo zone of the vineyards.
In the winery careful temperature controlled fermentation and collaboration of New World trained winemakers and local knowledge has produced a full bodied, distinctive Rhone blend which marries the Old and New world in terms of style but with a slant towards a meatier, more structured wine. The key to this wine is the long time spent working with the fine lees to obtain length and complexity.
Taking its name from Pedro Martinez de Luna the famous Aragonese cardinal and anti-pope.
