REGION
Clare Valley, South Australia

VINEYARDS
This wine is a blend of wines made from vineyards scattered throughout the entire Clare Valley. Each parcel of fruit has its own distinctive characteristics which builds the wine. Fruit from the southern part of the valley contributes bright juicy red berries and mid palate sweetness. Whereas fruit from the northern end tends to be darker fruits
with higher tannin & extract which forms the structure of the wine. When blended together they make a more complete balanced interesting wine.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS
2018 produced one of the earliest ripening vintages due to the very dry Spring which restricted yields . The warm dry conditions prevailed throughout the growing season without any extreme weather events. The resulting Clare Valley Shiraz fruit was of exceptional quality with intense colour and flavour.

WINEMAKING
Winemaking for each parcel of fruit has a tailored approach with varied winemaking techniques and fermenter types utilised. The aim is to capture and enhance the intrinsic quality of each parcel. Oak maturation in barrel and tank dependant on the wine with both French and American oak, new and seasoned being used.

TASTING NOTES
The 2018 Clare Valley Shiraz is a deep inky dark red with vibrant purple hues. Plum, dark berries and touch spice on the aroma. The weight and structure of the wine is full bodied. Moderately oaked it is rich and satisfying with fine tannins and sweet fruit.
