      The story of Speights Summit Ultra 12x330C

      Speight's has been brewing in Dunedin since 1876, when James Speight, Charles Greenslade and William Dawson left Wellpark Brewery to start their own in Rattray Street. Dawson was the brewer, Greenslade the maltster and Speight the businessman. Speight's Ale won gold at the Melbourne Exhibition in 1880, which gave the brewery its Gold Medal Ale, and by 1887 it was the biggest brewery in the country. The Dunedin brewery still stands and runs public tours.

      Summit Ultra arrived in October 2017 as the low carb lager in the Speight's Summit range. It is a golden lager with a crisp finish at 4.2 per cent alcohol, brewed for longer than a standard lager, and the aim was a full flavoured beer with fewer carbs.

      The crisp hop bitterness suits fresh seafood and spicy dishes. These come as a twelve pack of 330 ml cans, best served cold.
