The story of Bia Saigon Export 6x330B

Bia Saigon is brewed by Sabeco, the Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation, Vietnam's largest brewer, based in Ho Chi Minh City. The company dates its roots to a small brewery in old Saigon in 1875, and today it brews a range that includes Bia Saigon, 333 and Bia Lac Viet.

Export is a pale lager of about 4.9% ABV, brewed from water, barley malt and rice, with hops adding a touch of citrus and spice around the edges. Sabeco describes its Export beer as slowly fermented, which it says gives a mellow, well-balanced lager that is easy to drink. This pack holds six 330ml bottles.

Sabeco's own advice is to drink its beers cold, with the best taste between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius, so a spell in the fridge suits it better than the freezer. It was made to go with Vietnamese cooking. Try it beside bun cha, the grilled pork and rice noodle dish eaten with a tangle of fresh herbs, or with prawn rice paper rolls and a peanut dipping sauce.
