The story of Oyster Bay SauvB

Oyster Bay comes from the Delegat family, who bought land for a vineyard and winery in Henderson, West Auckland in 1947. The Oyster Bay label was launched in 1990, and its first Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc won gold and the Marquis de Goulaine Trophy for best Sauvignon Blanc at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in London. Delegat is still majority owned by the family.

Marlborough sits at the top of the South Island. The valley floors are stony alluvial soils left by a retreating glacier and laid down within the last 14,000 years. Warm days and cool nights give a long growing season, so the grapes ripen with strong flavour while holding crisp natural acidity. The style is aromatic, with tropical fruit and bright citrus, and a zesty finish.

Serve it well chilled. It suits fresh fish, oysters, scallops and salads, and it is easy enough to pour on its own.
