The story of Giotti Prosecco NV

Giotti is a Prosecco made by Casa Vinicola Bosco Malera, a winery in Salgareda, in the province of Treviso in north-eastern Italy. The company trades as Bosco Viticultori and belongs to the Vi.V.O. group, a cooperative of more than 2,000 members that manages about 6,000 hectares of vineyards across nine wineries in the Treviso and Venice areas.

Giotti is made from Glera, the grape behind all Prosecco, grown within the Prosecco DOC area. Most Prosecco is made by letting the second fermentation happen in a stainless steel tank, which keeps the fruit fresh and the bubbles lively. This one is an Extra Dry style, so it carries a touch of fruit sweetness on top of its citrus and floral aromas, and it comes in at 11 per cent. Pale yellow in the glass, with a fine and lasting stream of bubbles.

Serve it well chilled, between 6 and 8 degrees. It pairs with light appetisers, delicate fish, white meats and fresh cheeses, and it makes an easy aperitif or a base for a spritz.
