Tiger Beer was born in Singapore. Heineken and Fraser and Neave formed Malayan Breweries there on 15 April 1931, and the first batch of Tiger was brewed on 1 October 1932 at the original brewery on Alexandra Road. It was Singapore's first locally brewed beer. Today the brand is owned by Heineken Asia Pacific, formerly Asia Pacific Breweries, and it is sold in more than 60 countries.
Tiger is a 5% pale lager brewed from water, malted barley, sugar and hops. It is described as the definitive Asian lager, made with a process called tropical lagering. It has won gold at the World Beer Cup twice, in 2004 in the European-style pilsner category and in 2010 in the international-style lager category.
This is a pack of twelve 330ml bottles. It is a beer to open straight from the fridge, and it sits well alongside a barbecue or a takeaway meal. The slogan "It's Time for a Tiger" has been in use since the 1930s.
