The story of Canadian Cl

Canadian Club began in Walkerville, Ontario, on the Detroit River, where grain merchant Hiram Walker started making whisky in the 1850s. He branded his barrels so drinkers knew who made it, at a time when most whisky was filled from a generic barrel into the customer's own jug. It became popular in the gentlemen's clubs of the United States as Club Whisky, and when US rules required the country of origin on the label, it became Canadian Club.

The whisky is built on rye, rye malt, barley malt and corn. The corn makes a colourless, neutral base whisky, while the rye and barley malt supply the flavour, and the whisky ages in used American white oak bourbon barrels. This pack is Canadian Club mixed with a zero sugar dry ginger ale, ten 330 ml cans at 4.8 per cent alcohol.

Drink it cold, from the can or poured over ice. The brand pairs Canadian Club and ginger ale with saucy barbecued ribs and spicy curries, and the dry, lightly spiced style suits both.
