The story of Fireball Whiskey

Fireball began in Canada in the mid-1980s, created by Seagram as one of the flavours in its Dr. McGillicuddy's range of flavoured spirits. The Sazerac Company of Louisville, Kentucky bought the brand in 1989 and still owns it. It was first marketed as Dr. McGillicuddy's Fireball Whisky, and it was sold mainly in the United States and Canada until it began expanding internationally in 2014.

It is Canadian whisky flavoured with cinnamon and sweetened, bottled at 33% ABV. That is below the strength of a straight whisky, so it sits closer to a liqueur in the glass. The cinnamon flavour is based on the Atomic Fireball candy.

The 50ml miniature is a single measure. Pour it over ice, where the cinnamon heat softens as the ice melts, and take your time with it. It also works as the base of mixed drinks such as the Cinna-Rita.
