The story of Grant Burge Ink Barossa Shiraz

Barossa Ink Shiraz is a full-bodied, dry Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, named for its colour. The Grant Burge winemaking team blends vibrant parcels of Barossa fruit, helped along by natural colour from the grape skins, to make a Shiraz so dark it is almost ink. It is one of seven wines in the Ink range.

Grant Burge Wines was established in 1988 by Grant Burge, the fifth generation of a Barossa grape-growing family, and the winery is the largest vineyard holder in the southern Barossa.

This is a Shiraz built for pleasure now rather than patience. The nose is rich with sweet red fruit, plum, raspberry and dark cherry, with dark chocolate, coffee bean and spice underneath. The palate is juicy and fruit driven, with fine velvety tannins and round fruit, and oak kept firmly in the background.

A standard red wine glass is all it needs. The winery suggests a meaty, cheesy pizza, and the wine is made for drinking soon after you buy it.
