The story of Kiss Fruit Cider Cherry 500C

Kiss is a fruit cider brand from Lithuania, made by Švyturys-Utenos alus. That company was formed in 2001 when Švyturys, founded in Klaipėda in 1784, merged with Utenos Alus, the Utena brewery that released its first beer in 1977. Utenos Alus began producing Kiss cider in 2000, and the company is now part of the Carlsberg Group.

The cherry version starts from fermented apple juice, blended with pear and cherry juice and natural apple wine. The maker uses real fruit juice rather than artificial flavouring, so apple and cherry lead the flavour in a juicy, sparkling drink.

The 500ml can is a single serve, and it is best served well chilled. Pour it over ice in a tall glass, or drink it straight from the can. The sweet cherry goes well with salty snacks like roasted nuts and crisps, a charcuterie board, or a sharp cheddar, and it can stand up to spicy chicken wings.
