The story of BRB Hazy Pale Ale 12x330C

BRB is short for Boundary Road Brewery, a New Zealand craft-style beer brand that has been going since 2011. It is based at 116 Boundary Road in Red Hill, south Auckland, and sits in Asahi Beverages' New Zealand portfolio.

This is the brand's Hazy Pale Ale, sold here as a 12 pack of 330ml cans. It is 4.8 per cent with around 30 IBU, so it is a moderate-strength pale ale. The malt bill is ale and wheat malt, and the wheat is there for smoothness in the mouthfeel.

The hops are Riwaka, Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo hop oil. The brewer's notes credit the American hops with a tropical medley of aromas and the New Zealand Riwaka with strong passionfruit character. In the glass it is lightly hazed, with a juicy tropical fruit aroma over a solid malt body.

Serve it cold, poured into a glass so the hop aroma has room to open up.
